management at all levels is horrible at communicating. they will have expectations that are never communicated and then shut you out and punish you for failing to meet them. make a mistake? there will never be a conversation about it; you will just be gradually isolated more and more, taken off the schedule, treated rudely by management, until you want to quit. and don't ever ask for a raise, no matter how hard-working you are or how long you've been there; it will put you on management's bad side immediately and they will make sure you know it, as passive-aggressively as possible. i have watched them make empty promise after empty promise (promotions, raises) to good, hard-working people to keep them on the team for as long as they can't do without them, and then toss them aside like garbage.
