Pros

Pay is descent for upstate NY

Cons

Too many things to list. New CEO is full of bla bla. First company broadcast he said the following: 1) "I have 1 chance to prove I am credible". So couple months later he cuts all the benefits (vacation, 401K, and new medical) he send a stupid survey after about respect. He got over a thousand comments and most were negative. Yes, he proved that he is credible LOL! 2) "I want to build a culture of trust and empowerment". "Our experienced dedicated employees are our biggest asset". He cuts half of the employees in the Rochester area. It went from 1400 to less than 700 people. It seems that every week Carestream is losing someone (people are jumping ship like never before). He was asked during one of his bla bla speech. How many people are now working for Carestream in Rochester after all the lay offs. His response was: "I have no idea." Than he was asked don't you thing as a president you should know. his response was: "why does it matter". This shows how much he really thinks about the people. President of a company and he has no idea on how many people work for him. This should be the basic of being a real leader who really cares about their people. "We have to be a (gotta have) company". "Gotta have products, Gotta have place to work". If you ask any 'worker' at Carestream they will tell he is full of s....... Everything is moving to China. No X-ray detectors will be made in Rochester. CEO came to do one thing. Cut Cut and Cut. So book looks good and he can sell the company. He gets a big FAT bonus from Onex corporation.

Pros

The individual people, not the corporate teams but the individual people are great.

Cons

Shrinking, shrinking shrinking. This company was once a $3-4bil in revenue is now under $1bil. Benefits have been cut year after year after year. Leadership which drove sales down is toxic. Maybe it's normal corporate stuff but don't have sales drop 25% in a year and tell us what a great job the sales leadership is doing. In 2025 no merit increases, although certain departments were secretly given bonuses to try and keep them from leaving. The US sales team will fly off to Cabo and Cancun to have weeklong retreats every year, but no room in the budget for raises. In recent Town Hall call the CEO basically promised merit increase next year and said it was put in the budget. BUT IT WAS IN THIS YEAR'S BUDGET TOO!!! Lastly, they've been working to chop up and sell the company for a long time now. Well, it finally happened. A Chinese company is buying bits and pieces now, and coming back in a few years to buy the rest. Of course, this is packaged as a "strategic partnership" after months of lying to everyone and saying nothing was happening. So between no merit, hiding secret bonuses being sent to people, and then saying next year will get merit because it's in the budget, lying about what's happening to the company, lying about selling/partnership, etc. I have to say stay away.
