3 things I enjoy about being at Captain Marketing are the people, the environment, and the schedule. There is such a large pool of different people working here, and they all seem to be very nice with great senses of humor. The office is a relaxed office with an open dress code, which allows us to be comfortable as we work. They are really flexible with the schedule; I can come in anywhere from 7am to 9am. This is great for me as I sometimes have things to do late at night and need the sleep before I come into work. Other than that, this job does not infringe on my personal life. They are REALLY good at granting time off...I cannot think of a time when I asked for time off and they did not grant it.

You do have to be here for at least a year before you see increase, but if you work hard, it will come. Obviously everyone wants to make a ton of money, but there is a lot of ladder climbing to be done if you want to make living here.

There is good opportunity for advancement for anyone who shows initiative. The other employees are great people but upper management is disorganized and callous.

The company doesn't care about their employees or their product. There is a high turn over rate because there are no set raises and everyone assumes that if you ask for a raise you'll get turned down and be seen as a bad employee. Looking like you are working is more important than actual work output. There are no real work reviews. One unhappy client that calls every number at the company means more than all of the happy clients that never complain. There is no time to do good work. High turnover and bad hiring practices means the company is always understaffed. People regularly get fired or just stop coming in within their first two weeks. Good employees are all trying to find better jobs. The only clients that get attention are the ones that scream. When someone cancels because of lack of contact, it is still your fault for not contacting them. The links Captain Marketing builds are low quality and against Google's recommendations. There is no move to improve links or service as Google's algorithms update. You are just supposed to convince the client that they should stay with the exact same service that isn't working.
