Pros
Candeo was one of my first jobs. Although my time here was brief (I left due to family needs), I really enjoyed it. The pay was above market and the benefits were at market value. The people I worked with and my leader was excellent. Culture/community was the biggest benefit, in my mind. From what I know, Candeo grew quickly and is catching up with itself. Over a few years, they grewx5 in clients and staff so you'll find that process and communication is under constant change. I learned that if you feel lost, just ask your leader for assistance. Candeo is what you make it. Even though there may not always be a clear path for growth, you are given the tools to forge your own.
Cons
Leadership was just forming as I started with Candeo and this is an area where the agency could do much better. There isn't clear leadership over various parts of the business. I would make this a priority. I believe the lack of clear leadership is what contributes to silo like departments.
Pros
Candeo was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Coming into the job, I was nervous because it was only 3 years old. Startups are often unstable and riddled with issues, so I had some hesitation. I was surprised at how well organized, transparent and energetic the company was. The leadership was open and communicated often, my co-workers became my closest friends and the clients were fantastic. Speaking of the clients, Candeo is incredibly picky with who they take on for clients. I was in meetings where they turned down major deals because it didn't bring their team value or it wasn't a fit. The moral compass of this organization is outstanding. The pay is decent, but not amazing. They company holds quarterly financial meetings and shares their plans to reward and compensate people more, as we reach common goals. As I was leaving, they kicked off offering generous health care packages, retirement planning and the like Of course, there's the fun stuff too. They provide drinks, snacks, massages, etc. The team often hangs out side of work and is incredibly inclusive to newbies. The founder, Zack, is incredibly impressive for being in his early 20's, Heck, I've been inspired by him many times. He admits his faults and leans on others openly for support. He doesn't take anything too seriously, has fun, and often will be found working late into the evening. Overall, my experience was great! I wish I could come back but had to move out of the area. You will not find a company like this in many places.
Cons
Candeo is competitive by nature. Great people, ideas and innovations rise to the top. Introverts can sometimes feel a little left out. The work is challenging but demanding. I found myself working from home a lot, checking email on the weekends and sometimes working late. It wasn't a demand from the company, but if you wanted to keep up, it felt needed. The company will need more leadership in the near future to grow in a scaleable way. There's been a lot of discussion and planning on this and I'm glad they're taking their time, but it's something that will be needed and the team can feel it.
