Cons
The IT environment is dominated by internal politics rather than technical competence. Simple operational questions turn into unnecessary power plays.
When you approach management with a ticket, instead of providing answers or guidance, you are asked to produce architecture diagrams on the spot. These diagrams are then used by the manager to research the problem online, often in real time, before responding. This wastes time and exposes a lack of hands-on knowledge.
Work that is already completed is later reassigned under management’s name, taking credit away from engineers. At the same time, engineers are given no real authority to execute or make decisions.
Micromanagement is constant. There is no trust, no ownership, and no freedom to work. Technical discussions are replaced by control tactics, and productivity suffers as a result.
