Pros
Schedules can be flexible within the union agreement. Pay is okay. The only thing cpkc has going is a pension, but most don't want to stick around that long cause its insane the number of years you have to put in.
Cons
Pay is okay, what was once a competitive company and great pay rates is now mediocre. The extremely odd starting pay scale is a massive deterrent and a poor strategy for the company to retain wealth. Other industry pay greater per hour, have bigger benefit packages, bigger bonuses, more loa, better holidays etc. Pension requires far too many years. This place is never clear on your BENEFITS! It should be a hand out to every new employee, everything they can access for being in that union.
