Pros

Office was close to me, work was challenging, manager was easy to work with, hours where great, support was great.

Cons

Traveled too far since we reduced our workforce, sometimes 2 and 3 hour drives to accounts in San Diego and Santa Clarita. On call was every 4th week since only four techs remained.

Pros

My check has not bounced yet and here in St. Louis we take it day by day. I hear it's the same at all sites.

Cons

For as long as I can remember, CMS has laid off longtime employees near or at retirement age. In all the years I've been working here, I've never had one performance review!! Except unprofessional yelling and screaming from the owner. There is no loyalty whatsoever. Some employees that are 50 and older have gone without raises for over 15+ years, while younger employees have received raises annually. After a 10% pay cut several years ago, only a "select few" received their 10% in pay back. If you were 50 or older, you did not. It does not matter how good an employee you are or what HR or your managers think. If the owner and his wife want you gone, you are gone. Employees live in a constant fear of when they will be on the chopping block. Beware, June is always layoff month! I'll probably be next for writing this.

CMS Communications Response

Thanks for your feedback! CMS has multiple division heads that try to accommodate all employee needs. Some divisions have employees who are near or past retirement age that still enjoy the work environment. The 10% cut was all around the board cut that management and employee alike experienced due to the 2007-2009 recession. CMS felt this was the best option during those tough times and certain programs like 401K matching (that were also cut) have now been brought back. HR is always available to listen to your comments and suggestions and we implore you to take advantage of their confidentiality. We take your input seriously, even if that means censuring or repremandation at the highest levels. Complete consideration will be taken of this review. Thanks again for your input!
