Pros
*some of the people but many are leaving or have left *work from anywhere august was cool *the new office looks cool *Caryn is a terrible people leader but a great business person so there is confidence in the longevity of the business
Cons
*this company is more toxic than chernobyl and most of it stems from leadership *competition within teams and zero trust *failing isn't okay at clear so it takes forever to get something done. no one wants to be the one to make the decision on something that fails. when something does fail hope you're not the lowest level person on the team or the blame will fall on you. zero accountability from management at all levels. *little room innovation and most decisions are driven from the business versus tech and product. new CTO may help change this but remains to be seen if Caryn will let him *no actual HR team. there are people on HR but there is no care for employee relations issues or fixing the toxic culture *commitment to diversity and inclusion is a joke. very performative and won't actually invest in any resources but created a council so leadership can say we value diversity. no programs or policies have come from it in 1 1/2 years *there are people that can get away with anything at clear (even obvious discrimination in some cases) because they've been with the company for so long or they're "really good at what they do". the response is usually an eye roll and "that's just how they are"
