Pros

Some people work from home. Some flexibility. Nice co-workers.

Cons

Shame on them for underpaying employees so badly. I work in Northern California and they pay at poverty level. Don't care about employees or expertise - they'd rather let a fully trained, competent worker go than give $1 per hour pay increase. Recently we couldn't go to work because the building was on lockdown - they forced us to take our precision PTO for the missed day. Awful, short-sighted management. Ridiculously outdated equipment and software - they overwork and don't give the resources to get the job done. If only their clients knew.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We are listening and we are striving to improve our current practices in order to make CHMB the best place to work. Maintaining internal equity is a huge goal of ours, making sure that employees are paid fairly based on their experience, education, certifications, etc. We also pay close attention to current market rates for each position based on location and skills as well. Due to the fact that we are growing, we unfortunately cannot afford to pay top dollar at the moment due to a strict budget, but we are trying to make up for it by encouraging internal promotions, holding company events, and giving out referral bonuses as well as bonuses for helping to train new employees. We do understand that the bay area is very expensive and we are very careful to ensure we stay within the average pay rate for that area. Glassdoor's salary search function is extremely helpful in finding the average pay for a specific position in the city that you choose. Just be sure to keep an eye on years of experience required for that amount, degrees, certifications, and company size. If you feel like you are being paid unfairly in relation to the average, or if you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at JBlume@CHMBInc.com. I would be happy to help you.

Pros

There are not many good things I can say about this employer but during the time I was there other than it seemed promising at times but nothing really panned out the way one would expect.

Cons

Things changed from day to day and week to week and I never really felt like I was part of the team. I was told that I was doing well when I asked but I wasn't ever given feedback without asking for it and the responses I received were always vague at best. I was managed by a different person ever couple of months and the clients that I was responsible for changed constantly. As soon as I started to feel comfortable with the team and clients I was managing, senior staff would change it and I'd have to start all over from scratch trying to learn about client and personnel needs. Looking back, I never had a chance at succeeding in this organization and I felt that few others did either. When things went wrong, everyone cared as much about who caused the problem as they did fixing it. If a client had an issue with someone, the immediate response was to change the person handling that client and/or task. I also reported to more than 4 people in less than a year so management never knew their people well enough to know if they were good or not.
