Pros

1-Good work life balance 2-We can approach any Unit(HR/Payroll/Manager/Leads) easily 3-CGI have lot of eLearning tools 4-You can invest for CGI. CGI also contribute small percentage of your Contribution 5-There are lot of Member satisfaction programmes(Sports, Cultural, Health checkups, Women oriented Programmes etc.....etc.......) 6-For Laterals/Experienced CGI is heaven 7-Employee friendly 8-Cab facility/Gym/Cafeteria/Free shuttle/Team outing(Yearly once) etc.....etc.. Much more......But

Cons

1- If you are a fresher and having a particular Interest/Technologies/Career Path/Dream then CGI is not the Place. I don't know about other companies. Because CGI will Allocate the freshers randomly as per the needs but they will tell they processed some Algorithms/Based on Interviews etc(They don't disclose that as well. Those who don't know programming they will be in High End development phase. Those who know and passion for Programming they will be consultant....vice-versa). 2-Less Pay for freshers(Increment also Less) 3-Traditional SDLC... Not Agile 4-Two years for the same project. Can't change as per policies. 5-On-site not for freshers. 6-If you have interested in the Financial software they will deploy you in Communication vice-versa(There are many Business Areas)(They don't know your Interest...) 7- (Freshers)-Two Years Bond----Two years same project----Two years same Technology(Reseach saying each 15days new Technologies are rising) etc....etc....... If you are a Fresher kindly share your career path to your HR/Interviewer/Recruiter then sign the agreement. If you get your area of interest as your Designation/Role then Trust me CGI is heaven. All the very best.

Pros

no specific positives to highlight from my perspective

Cons

I worked at CGI in both India and the USA and observed similar workplace culture concerns across both locations. The only real difference was HR—India HR felt more supportive, while my experience with USA HR was disappointing. My employment ended shortly after maternity leave due to an alleged “lack of projects,” which I experienced as a layoff. I also observed what appeared to be misuse of position by some leaders, including blurred professional boundaries, preferential treatment, and expectations that went beyond normal workplace roles—at times resembling personal-assistant-style demands rather than professional conduct. Surprisingly, I also noticed inconsistent “policies” applied differently to different individuals. In some cases, it felt like the rules changed depending on who you were. When leadership became aware that someone was related to another employee in the organization, it sometimes felt like that person was singled out or targeted rather than treated objectively. Overall, these practices—whether through inconsistent treatment, perceived power misuse, or favoritism—undermine trust, damage workplace culture, and raise serious concerns about fairness and professionalism.
