Pros
For typical middle class ambitionless, risk fearing, feet licking Bengali gentlemen..it's a wonderful place to work
Cons
1) Slow adaptation to change resulting into lagging miles behind the likes of TATA Power 2) Most of the DGMs and GMs are more of Professors rather than professionals. They have made it more of a school rather than office. That is a great factor which is lowering the dynamicity and vibrancy of the company 3) Those professional PROFESSORS invariably search for the youngsters whom they can make scapegoat during appraisal process. Rich gets richer and poor gets poorer until the boss finds a new ' chicken ' to slaughter. Boss, wake up and stop the nonsense 4) Special privilege of some of the older dy managers who are so called son like to the DGM. In terms of promoting or company paid foreign trips. The young guys have to hear that you are not even qualified for these...whereas youngsters expect some appreciations for their efforts to the team. If not promote them, atleast don't hurt their confidence.
