Pros

Employees get membership benefits like free range time

Cons

You will only make minimum wage here. Despite the range alone making tens of thousands of dollars a week, the owner will not pay you over 13/hr regardless of your level of experience or qualifications. He also does not care to learn your name as he will call you 'bud' even after 1 year. The owner is so busy making sure his pockets are full that he is completely out of touch with what is going on with his store. There have been inventory issues since last year (2021) that he is just now seeing because he doesn't pay attention to his store. He is so cheap he won't even turn on the AC below 78 degrees, even on weekends when we have no less than 30 customers on the sales floor at any given time. It currently smells like a commercial gym locker room at the end of the day. It is also very humid inside the store and often the air filters (the ones that filter the lead out of the air that you breathe on the range) will not be running at 100% but, also, apparently not his problem. When you complete your mandatory courses you are eligible for a whole .50 cent raise. I have to work 3 hours to be able to afford 1 box of 9mm from C2. The markup is over 100% for almost everything at the range. I get it, they have to make money somehow. The courses are the biggest red flag. The training director uses his courses to explain how much he hates firearms. The 'instructor' that leads our female shooting group, Women of Steel, uses her courses to talk crap on the opposite gender. The curriculum is mostly comprised of anachronisms perpetuated through institutional inbreeding. In other words, this is information from literally the 1980's that has been regurgitated over and over. The gate keeping mentality that this store has is quite toxic. I have been reprimanded for explaining to a brand new shooter, the proper grip technique. I wasn't giving a full lesson. I was giving enough information that they were able to safely hold and shoot this firearm and then I'm being pulled aside and told I need to be pushing courses or private lessons instead. Complete garbage. The name of this store is C2 TACTICAL, yet the training director is so caught up in this 'everything is too tacticool and ninja' mindset that he wants it to be C2 Practical. Very good. They are gate keeping information for American Citizens that want to exercise their 2nd amendment rights. Let me just tell you there is not a single thing you can learn from C2 that is not readily available on youtube for FREE. Not a single thing. They are preying on new shooters because they don't know better. If you blindly listen to what they are teaching in their courses, I promise you if you ever need your gun in self defense, you WILL die. There are maybe 2 good C2 instructors and a couple good outside instructors. So much incompetence is swept under the rug its not surprise there is such a dumpster fire with inventory. I guess thats what happens when the owner goes 9 months without paying attention to his store. Not even knowing our names after months really drives it home that all Vince cares about is having bodies in uniform, on the clock, there to take customers money. Is this a good way to dip your toes into the firearms industry? Hell yeah its a great job but the pay isn't there. The amount of work you are asked to do outside of your job is worth well over the scraps we are paid. This is not the place to work for a career in the firearms industry at all. Work here for a summer or on weekends, get the employee benefits, get a peek behind the curtain of the firearms industry, then move on. Unless you work for a very specific manager at Tempe, expect your schedule to be changed last minute. I really mean last minute. 5 hours before a shift with no notice. This has happened multiple times. Also, expect the leads making the schedule to repeatedly make mistakes or 'forget' to make the schedule or account for a certain event or holiday where business will be higher than usual and then it all falls on us to cover those shifts, not the lead. For months this is just constantly swept under the rug and those incompetent and inept leads are in fact still leads. As others have said, this place obviously has a very high turnover. We also do not appeal to a significant portion of the 2a community. Pretty much only beginners so we can use our predatory sales tactics and rich people. We appeal to almost no LE customers because we for some reason do not stock the most commonly asked for accessories. Hell, we barely carry accessories for the guns we have in store. We have all sorts of snake oil products on our shelves but very little of what professionals are looking for. The more educated you become about firearms and products the more you'll see this is really just a place to shoot. From a customer standpoint the best way to spend your money here would be get the commander membership as it basically costs 12 range fees but comes with other benefits. Just come here for range time, bring your own ammo from online or trueshot, DO NOT rent guns from us because you have to shoot our ridiculous ammo (we get 9mm for $16 dollars cost, YOU pay $37.82 after tax and this is 115gr ball ammo) and thats it. Come get your range time and unless we have a gun that you just absolutely can't find anywhere else, don't spend your money here in any other way. DO NOT take courses from the inside C2 intructors. Use one of their outside instructors or go to one of the bigger names that have experience. There is absolutely no performance on demand from these instructors. There is not a SINGLE C2 instructor that demonstrates anything on the range. Sound like the kind of people you want to pay money and learn from?

Pros

I was able to work here while working other jobs or while I was in school and got to be in an industry I liked

Cons

Can be toxic but that's definitely based off the staff there.
