Pros
Very cool product with a lot of potential. The company seems to have a pretty solid cash flow and a plan for where they want to go. They're growing quickly Compensation is decent. Unlimited paid time off.
Cons
Management employs tactics that are severely detrimental to company culture, morale, and employee wellbeing: Only accomplishments that involved a great deal of work outside normal business hours are recognized/rewarded Initiatives are occasionally announced requiring employees to accomplish more work than normal for a certain period of time. Often the "we are a startup after all" card is played. In at least one instance, additional mandatory work hours were set. No bonuses While the company expects employees to refine their skills on their own time, no training/development/assistance is provided. Even when the company is trying to hire/grow rapidly, employees are regularly fired unexpectedly and with minimal explanation Some departments have an after-hours and weekend on-call rotation that ranges from minor annoyance to brutally soul-crushing ordeal. There is also an unspoken expectation that even if you're not on call, you're generally reachable via HipChat and will respond to questions Most of the employees, including "senior" management are relatively young. There are no seasoned veterans. Staff is very homogenous. Very little diversity. No HR department. They tout this as a benefit, which maybe it could be, but many of the aforementioned shenanigans would not happen with HR oversight Being a relatively flat organization, there's room to move laterally, but not up.
