Wouldn't recommend to new employees or clients - Senior PM Burst! Creative Group Employee Review

Pros

Honestly, none. Sad but true... and a bit amusing.

Cons

The company has lost all of its employees (maybe with one or two stragglers remaining who are trying to find a way out after being faced with many concerning incidents) so I guess word must be getting out which is why nobody wants to work there. Slightly unfortunate but you'll understand pretty quick if you make the mistake of taking a job there. Certainly not a place where you can develop your skills or feel inspired by your work and team. The place is in the basement, no natural light and a very stuffy little studio to work in. It's probably smaller than your condos open plan kitchen and living space - no room to swing a cat. It's also a very secretive environment, the owner still floats around cold-calling potential clients or probably chatting to a dev team in some far away country to create a website in a couple days for a client who has no idea that the project process is non existent and that the owner takes an unethical approach in everything he does. He doesn't know how to be honest, or manage budgets and timings, write contracts, briefs or even complete a project successfully. It wouldn't surprise me if he was in debt or just scraping by somehow.

Pros

Working with Burst allowed me to work for clients who aren't just large corporations. It seems that they are truly committed to helping their clients which heavily revolved around Indigenous communities when I worked there. The office is located near public transit and they did not hesitate to trust me and my partner with important work which made me feel valued as a part of the team.

Cons

What they have in terms of motivation and quality work, they lack in communication; much of our work was self-led. This may be an issue if you aren't actively seeking help or if you prefer to work in a social environment. (FYI: My compensation rating is 0 stars because I did not receive any and cannot rate it)
