Pros
Build Change is focused on its mission and the people it works with to achieve the greatest impact. The end user is a priority. The company is very willing to leverage expertise and experience to try new things, approaches and get results where larger orgs may be less nimble. The work is both very tangible, on the ground progress, as well as higher-level advocacy and advisory on policy and decision makers, to change systems. As a smaller global org, there is a lot of diversity and regular opportunity to connect with team members from different locations. As a workplace, there is support for professional development, annual performance reviews, and other opportunities for feedback and recognition. Structured with a small global group and various country programs and offices means everyone's inputs count - the staff are collaborative and experienced at their work. Strategic planning reflects inputs from all teams and groups to set goals and priorities annually. Leadership is also understanding of the demands on staff with families, new parents/mothers, etc. and have set a supportive culture in this regard.
Cons
As a smaller and mission-driven org, it’s not a good fit for people that don’t take initiative or responsibility in their work.
