Pros
-CEO Duncan Hawthorne is excellent -Very strong focus on safety culture, important for the nuclear power industry -Great pay, good benefits package (if full time) -Best place to work in Bruce County, can be a job for life -Early retirement with full pension (some people retire as early as age 50!) -Contractors haven, lots of great opportunities there to work on big projects -Bruce County area is gorgeous cottage country in the summer
Cons
-Location, Tiverton Ontario which is a three hour drive from Toronto while it's fantastic in the summer the winters there are brutal, especially the driving conditions, it's very common to land your car in a ditch -Very political atmosphere -Union culture is sometimes job protectionist -If you're not from Bruce County it may a while for co-workers to warm up to you -It takes a long time to get projects done, lots and lots of process and procedures, everything moves at a snails pace...however not all of this fault lies with the company, the nuclear industry regulations slow things down as well which is beyond Bruce Power's control -Very slow hiring process and aging work force
