Pros

It is somewhat impressive that a company run this poorly has been in business for over 20 years.

Cons

Leadership has a severe lack of trust of employees. Business systems and tools are incredibly antiquated. Every decision requires extensive amounts of data to be pulled (which is time consuming given out-of-date systems) yet decisions are then made based on emotion or what has always been done in the past. There is very little innovation or openness to new ideas. The culture and management style is one of blame and fear; there is zero trust or empowerment of employees. It is a company led by women yet there is very little flexibility or empathy for life and family. Work/life balance is nonexistent. There is very little understanding of, or even a desire to understand, the modern consumer and how to effectively engage her. There is limited understanding or desire to bring in new shoppers. The office is cramped and dirty without basic amenities such as coffee or office supplies ... so a company that expects people to spend $75+ on moisturizer won’t invest in proper systems or tools to run the business, offer coffee for their employees (or guests) or even bother to clean the office.

Pros

Business hours and get to meet some great clients

Cons

Lack of recognition for hard workers. No pay increase. Some employees are getting paid 30+ an hour at most stores and complain about a couple of cents from pay increase where people like myself is getting paid $10 less with no pay increase. Full time employees will do the most work more than anyone else, including management. Management also receives the most recognition over the employees that do the most work. This company has been bought out by Macy’s so I don’t think they care to hear what employees have to say.
