Pros

Promotes education, diverse technologies, remote work, good people, Microsoft constantly wants to hire our members, great opportunities after a first couple of years if you are willing to leave, accurate travel requirement of 20%-ish, smart teammates, fun company retreats

Cons

Operations team has little contact with consultants, after several years no salary review or raise, low pay compared to market, confusing organizational tree, frequent strategic changes, creates and removes policies frequently, changes internal technologies frequently, truly believe they have the best of intentions just poor execution in operational matters

Pros

The culture at BlueGranite is to empower the consultants with the tools they need to do a great job, including even professional development. The team is made up of extremely intelligent people with a client-is-always-first approach as they do their work. They don't take the interview process lightly and the expectations are set very high once people are in the door. They're selective on the projects and clients taken on, righteously so, making this a very unique place for consultants.

Cons

The onboarding process may need a little refinement. It can get confusing quickly due to the learning curve, and having a more organized process to onboard a new employee (most elements could be standardized) can go a long way. Working from home is a perk (and a must), however, it can be a double-edged sword. The negative aspects of working from home are usually ignored. The pay is somewhat competitive, however, the job market is extremely competitive in this field making it appealing for anyone to consider other job opportunities for higher pay. The time allowed for professional development seems fair, theoretically. With the workloads and high expectations for each project, it is difficult for anyone to focus on professional development without somehow making a big sacrifice. But due to working with technology that is constantly changing, investing in development opportunities is critical to everyone's success.

Thank you. We are constantly working on improving our onboarding processes and coaching programs. Our team's feedback is important to us and we welcome direction of how we can improve. We have since implemented a more formal onboarding process that a new team member meets with 11+ team members within the first week to help them feel part of the team. Our MyPath career program is growing and improving in the coming months and years to help address your advice to management. Thank you for that feedback.
