Pros
No job, no company, no manager is perfect. What I like about Blackbaud is that they earnestly and openly strive to do better, always. Blackbaud knows that its #1 investment is in its employees (first), above all of its projects. In the Sydney office, this rings especially true. For example: We were moved to a new space, which reflects all the latest research on productivity, happiness, and positivity. All employees were encouraged to participate in feedback and designing the new space. Every aspect of the move was carefully thought out. Granted, not every thing has the luxury of time and forethought, but this sort of conscientiousness is business as usual for Blackbaud. I feel that the management team truly cares about us, and has an open door policy when something is 'off'. Innovation is encouraged and rewarded. Feedback is offered and always constructive/positive.
Cons
Some of the roles here are not for everyone: they require a specialised skillset, attitude, and emotional intelligence. Fortunately, mentors, peers, management and HR is more than willing to give someone every chance to succeed, and - if possible - identify other opportunities that are more suitable. Some adults do not know toilet etiquette, but that is not specific/limited to Blackbaud. Thankfully, the office is impeccably cleaned each evening!
