Pros

At first, flexible in working times.

Cons

Very poor treatment of staff. Unpleasant working atmosphere with very "old-fashioned" views going unchallenged.

Pros

Constructive criticism from teachers when I was a student was forward and direct, which I appreciated at times

Cons

There were a number of times when I was a student when things went wrong… e.g. there were occurrences where we found caterpillars in the salad bowl which was positioned on the centre piece table of the dining room. As an aspiring nutritionist, this was the particularly heinous, as through my studies I have realised how serious of a cover up this was. After leaving the school as a nutritionist inside sources told me of more of these situations and I am worried for the health and safety of future students. P.s. when I was a student, my art teacher smashed my grade A clay pot which took many hours to perfect and blamed it on the faultiness of the kiln, despite mine being the only pot that exploded in this incident.

Pros

Great staff body, supportive and inclusive. Great Leadership Team who are really looking to innovate, both in the initiatives that directly affect the children, like the PSB, but also in the broader sense, as an employer. The Head is really open-minded about changing styles of working and career development.

Cons

As with all Independent schools, the parent body can be demanding and there may be the requirement for long hours during term time.....but the holidays are really long!
