Pros

Remote working but in this day and age that’s hardly unheard of.

Cons

I will try condense this as best as I am able. 1. The management structure of this firm is very bad. Those in charge do very little to help any of their teams. 2. Caseload is totally unmanageable and if you dare ask for help or respite you’ll be outright lied to. 3. Very poor hiring processes means people with no experience at all are forced to work with you and drag you down. This isn’t surprising given that the people that do the hiring aren’t even qualified lawyers! 4. Managing director and C E O command very little respect. Managing director is practically invisible and C E O just says what everyone wants to hear. Promises everything and delivers nothing of what he says. 5. The pay scale of people is appalling. Jumped up salespeople are paid more than juniors as mentioned. 6. There’s a real disconnect between management and they are constantly talking behind each others back. One director who actually spoke the truth was forced out by another and a third loves nothing more than to chat about it! 7. Support teams that create work! Compliance led by someone so incoherent it’s actually quite funny. Doesn’t have a clue as to the obligations. 8. It’s very cliquey and you need to make sure you fit in or you’re pushed out, basically. 9. People genuinely incapable of doing the job remain in employment! 10. Very inappropriate behaviour at times that isn’t challenged. Lots of examples. Not an acceptable environment if you’re religious, married or both! No one cares about this. 11. A completely and utterly useless HR department made up of people that are complained about most. Can’t be trusted to deal with issues so few people approach them overall. Turnover is absolutely remarkable!

Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review, though we are of course disappointed and concerned at some of the things shared here. It is important to acknowledge that over the years, our firm has expanded at a rapid pace and we fully appreciate that with that occurring, the levels of communication between senior management and the business suffered as a result. This was never intentional and we are working hard to improve this. Sometimes it can be difficult to strike the balance and ensure systems and processes are being developed and remain fit for purpose whilst also providing milestone updates of that work as it happens. We do acknowledge at times people may have felt out of the loop. We are always accepting of genuine feedback and try to operate in a way that encourages openness and transparency. Many of things noted within this review do not read familiar to us, though. Some of the issues cited within this review have not been reported to our HR department or any of our senior managers. As a result, without any legitimate reports of the issues you mention, we are not able to investigate or verify these claims. Please do reach out to hr@bishopsgatelaw.com to discuss the things mentioned here assuming they are, of course, legitimate. Kind regards, The Bishopsgate Law team
