Not Bad for a Summer Job - Cashier/Sales Associate Big 5 Sporting Goods Employee Review

Pros

Managers were understanding and easy to talk to. They were more than willing to give you time off if you asked in advance. The job itself was pretty easy and not super stressful.

Cons

The pay wasn't great and there's no opportunity for raises unless you work there for more than three months. Some co-workers were unreliable and would quit without giving their two weeks', which made it more difficult for the people who were reliable. There were also people who would just decide not to show up to work, which again, puts more pressure on everyone else.

Pros

Most employees were really fun to work with, life/work balance was great, taught me good life skills, good first job for work experience.

Cons

Barely got scheduled (pretty sure my location was way over employed), occasional rude and entitled costumers (especially during the holidays), could get very slow and boring at times, sketchy area, overal, not a great job if you're looking for something that pays well.
