Pros

Best Buy offers a great Discount, you can buy items at 5% above cost (how much they buy them for). It's great for accessories and service plans but not so much for large expensive items. As far as retail goes, Best Buy is easily the best choice. Working with technology is challenging, but you find yourself enjoying keeping up with all the latest tech.

Cons

Best Buy is not great for someone looking for a stable job. Consumer electronics sales ebb and flow with the economy, and if you work for a specific store, you will definitely have to deal with losing hours during the slow months, and being overworked during the holidays. Also, the difference between how a full-time employee is treated and how a part-time employee is treated is incredible. Part-timers do not get paid sick time, or any type of paid time off whatsoever, there are no benefits except for stock options (which you won't be able to afford as a part-timer), and you are not guaranteed hours at all. Full-timers are guaranteed at least 32 hours, they get sick time, vacation time, and personal holiday time, they get health benefits, and tuition reimbursement. Salary cap for regular store employee (non-supervisor sales, inventory, merchandising, operations and cashiers) is around $12.50. Geek Squad and project team make significantly more (I started project team as a part-timer at $11.75 after working Sales at $8.75) than sales and inventory. Best Buy mobile is the best choice if you want a job with BBY. They make around what geek squad and project team make, their job is less physically strenuous, and they get cash bonuses. If you think Management is better, store managers have to work 50 hours a week, and make anywhere from $50k-$150k (depending on how long they've been with the company, and which managerial position they're in).

Pros

Flexible hours, employee perks such as discounted products, offers 401(k) despite being part-time, coworkers who are nice to work with.

Cons

Management is quick to call-out sales that have nothing attached to it (warranties, card applications, memberships, or accessories). There is a rodent problem that has not been addressed for nearly a year; food and beverages cannot be sold at this store.
