Average compensation levels and benefits package
Cons
Severely under capitalized. Intensely micromanaged. Inner circle of top management rules with iron fist approach, but unfortunately have little to no experience or understanding of front-line development, construction, marketing or sales matters. As such there is no capacity for local/regional variations in market dynamics nor ability to recognize the interplay of science and art of business decisions inherent in development. Employee opinions and ideas are viewed with distrust and hostility creating an atmosphere where loyalty and commitment do not grow and flourish. Severe absence of diversity in gender, experience, background and critical thinking. Little opportunity for advancement for other than for finance/accounting/auditing backgrounds. Feels more like a bank than a home building company. Accountability and team work is in short supply. Having someone to blame if later the CEO or CFO disapprove seems to be a primary objective of middle management - more than 18 of which report directly to CEO amazingly. 60-70 hour weeks are the norm. Don't expect superiors to be knowledgeable.
