Pros

Friendly teams Everyone has opportunity to express feelings on topics at meetings with directors not just managers. Great training for new starts Nice working environment Boxing day off

Cons

Harder to move up positions as most managers are there for a long time as they enjoy working there.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re delighted to hear how much you valued being part of our friendly and supportive team in Glasgow. Creating a welcoming environment where colleagues feel listened to and able to share their thoughts openly is incredibly important to us, so it’s lovely to know this stood out to you. It’s also great to hear that you found our training helpful and enjoyed the working environment, along with some of our colleague benefits like having Boxing Day off. We really appreciate your honest feedback around career progression. As you mentioned, many of our managers stay with us for a long time, which we’re very proud of, but we also recognise the importance of continuing to create meaningful development opportunities for our colleagues wherever we can. Thank you again for your contribution over the past few years. We wish you every success in the future and wherever your career takes you next.

Pros

Higher up management are amazing and care about employees, its not just talk with Beaverbrooks. They go above and beyond to support their staff. You will get the best customer service training ever! They are VERY fair with payment and rewards. Everyone is treated the same in regards to role and money. No negotiations, which I like, it shows we are equally valued. Bonus if you beat your targets for each financial quarter They celebrate success which is always great HR take allegations very seriously, everyone is heard and they are fair. They prosecute thieves, its not just talk. They wont allow customers to speak to you like garbage, you always have the right to ask someone to leave if they are being abusive. You get the best training in gems and metals to a certified level.

Cons

Only issue is sometimes the "customer is right" was very demoralising when you would stick to your guns when a customer complained about something, and even management agree, but for the sake of people pleasing, head office would often still give out "sorry's" and vouchers to not so nice or deserving people just to keep the peace. As with any job you wont always get along with everyone all the time.
