Pros

Great exposure to cutting-edge technology and AI tools. The learning curve is steep in the best way — you’re constantly working with modern tech stacks and innovative solutions. If you’re passionate about technology and want hands-on AI experience, this place delivers. Good for building a strong technical foundation.

Cons

Culture can feel very political if you’re not part of the “inner circle.” Career growth is largely dependent on how well you get along with management rather than the quality of your work. Those who have been in the organization for a long time or have personal rapport with leadership tend to get the most visibility and opportunities. Hiring also feels somewhat nepotistic — referrals and familiarity seem to carry more weight than merit. If you prefer a pure meritocracy, this may be frustrating. Middle management has very little actual authority. Managers often come across as approachable, but at the end of the day they are just a relay between employees and senior directors. All major decisions — whether it’s about projects, promotions, hiring, or team structure — come from the top and are passed down with little to no room for discussion. Don’t expect your direct manager to go to bat for you; they rarely have the power to do so even if they want to. This creates a disconnect where feedback and concerns get lost in translation and never really reach the people who actually make decisions.

Pros

The work itself was genuinely enjoyable. I had the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of brands and retailers, including some I hadn’t previously considered, which made the role both interesting and educational. Building partnerships was rewarding, and the day-to-day responsibilities could be engaging and fun.

Cons

The workplace culture was extremely cliquish and, at times, unprofessional. Disagreements were often followed by gossip, and it felt like colleagues frequently spoke negatively about one another. Attempts to seek guidance or support sometimes turned into conversations filled with unnecessary drama rather than constructive advice. Some moments felt inappropriate, such as being told to “smile more” by a sales rep during a client-facing call. Overall, the environment felt more like a high school dynamic than a professional setting. Management did not provide the level of support or leadership needed to foster a healthy team culture.
