Pros
I enjoyed working with the other consultants (most of whom voluntarily left for other jobs). We bonded over our shared misery and frustration.
Cons
I expected better treatment from a so-called Human Resources consulting company. Management (the CEO, the COO, and the Managing Director) create a negative environment that thrives on gossip and paranoia. The CEO openly bad mouths and defames ex-employees as if to justify that the shortcomings within the company are not the reasons people no longer want to work there. If you enjoy having your legal knowledge and expertise erased from your brain so you can generate reports that are continuously and closely scrutinized by a non-attorney (who isn't even authorized to review work performed for certain government contracts), then this is the place for you. Otherwise, I cannot in good conscience recommend this employer to anyone. I was made to feel as if my work was subpar while being promised opportunities for advancement that never materialized. Also, PAYCHECKS BOUNCE! At least four of my co-workers reported that their paychecks bounced (one of them said their paycheck bounced "multiple" times). Rather than be apologetic, the CEO usually just laughed it off and the COO denied any knowledge of the bounced paychecks (the COO and the CEO are married so I doubt that). The Managing Director is neither a "manager" nor a "director". She is not helpful or proactive and just looks irritated when anyone asks for help. Even the wonderfulness of the Trader Joe's next door cannot offset the awfulness of this toxic environment. The day I left was one of the happiest days of my life.
