Great solid company - Software Engineer Base2 Solutions Employee Review

Pros

Base2 is a solid, mature, no frills and no bs place with experienced people who have been around the block and know their stuff. I couldn't care less about having florescent bean bag chairs in the office or a clown troupe show every Friday... I want to do good work and get the job done and go live my life, and Base2 is all about that. There are perks like free lunches, stocked kitchen snacks, company parties, that kind of thing which I appreciate and enjoy, but more than that I appreciate them putting their money into their employees - like bonuses, training, not letting people go even when they're on the bench, sit-or-stand desks (a recent addition), improving the benefits package, etc.

Cons

I honestly have no complaints. It's easy to make a wish list of stuff you'd like, but there's no substitute for owners/execs/managers that genuinely want to do right by their people and go about their business with that in mind.

Pros

Once in a while you end up in a place that is so wonderful, you have to wonder what you did in a former life to deserve something so great. This is how I feel about working at Base2. I must have been a saint or something at some time(I'm certainly not now) The Company's priorities are delivering a great product and providing a healthy and happy work environment. This place is not a churn and burn of bodies. There is a great group of people and certainly, there are situations where you have to put in the extra hours, but as a general rule, work/life balance is the philosophy. I am a seasoned professional and have worked in a myriad of industries and companies and this will be my final position. Posted in the hall is a poster that states “People before profits” and the company lives by that philosophy. Everyone benefits from the prosperity of the business.

Cons

Well the con for me, is not really a con - the company is a wholly owned foreign subsidiary so the reporting is a bit tricky... but not really a con, as they cash
