Pros

I made some of the best friends while working here. The culture was really fun and even though people were underpaid across the board for almost every job, most people didn't mind because of working with their friends.

Cons

LIES LIES LIES. Almost everything that was said in company-wide meetings or in team meetings were basically lies. They wanted us to question everything in order to push for improvements and innovation but if you questioned your boss and didn't fully agree with him (whether he was right or not) then you were told to be quiet or to leave the meeting. Most of the executive team were just professional meeting goers but nothing ever got accomplished and there was more time wasted in meetings than playing ping pong or xbox. Some comments have said that there was so much time wasted doing these activities when in actuality they were on alotted break times. such as the 15 minute every 4 hours or during lunch. Most of the exec team didn't care enough about employees to know anything about them even though it was such a small "tribe" of the "perfect number of 100 people" based on self help books that still others have commented about as well, yet secret combinations lead them down the path of destruction leaving people who were doing good things for the company out to dry with no help and no warning. while keeping family and friends because they were family and friends.

Pros

Great job for those interested in working hard and helping build something. What others leaving reviews are calling "It used to be fun" are referring to the unstructured and flakey work environment that prized goofing off and playing ping pong over discipline and hard work. Mistakes have been made, missteps and sad times, but I can honestly say they are learning from their mistakes and trying to do the right thing. Anyone bashing Banyan should take a long look at themselves and maybe have some forgiveness in their heart for people who are human but genuinely care about others. I have never worked for a company that would do what Banyan has done for some of its present and past employees.

Cons

Was unstructured, is now becoming more structured and nailing down the loose boards. Used to be somewhat of an echo chamber, now is changing into somewhere that listens to employee ideas and values them. Used to be very secretive with "high level" meetings, and no dissemination of information and ideas, is now changing to a very transparent model. Note the use of "used to be". Things are changing a LOT.
