Pros
Inbound leads, good front line managers, remote.
Cons
Bamboo is known for paying its AEs poorly compared to other companies. They hire low skilled SDRs give them low pay as AEs due to lack of experience and if they stay they promote them to management. Its a revolving door of reps. Last year almost half of the sales team that had been here since 2022 left due to people quitting or getting PIPd. On average only 30% of the team meets their goals each month. Yet the company continues to perform well remaining debt free and having record breaking months. The only people benefiting from these accomplishments is upper management. Most reps barely make it by hitting quota every couple of months. Just enough to keep there jobs but not enough to make money. Upper management in sales has been at bamboo for the past decade. Most managers started as SDRs and worked their way up. Their lack of outside experience leads to bad decisions like setting unrealistic quotas and paying less compared to other companies. They also motivate people in terrible ways like having a demotion path for everyone. While all the employees in the company got a pay bump this year due to high inflation the sales org got told they have three months to hit their target otherwise theyd be demoted with a massive pay cut. Its better than getting fired but the problem is the high quota. Not reps lacking motivation or training. Bamboos sales team doesnt pay well and the high targets cause most reps to consistently miss their goals. They quickly replace reps because they hire low skilled SDRs and promote from within. Bamboo doesn't make an effort to keep the best reps the way the need to which is increasing compensation.
