Pros

The co-workers were really nice, management is ok. You get to take home free bagels and there is a 50% employee discount on everything except bottled drinks

Cons

I cant even begin to describe the unspeakable things which take place behind the scenes in this restaurant. After working there for over a year, it is my opinion that District management is 100% responsible for some very serious issues, most of which I will not mention here. They had been stealing time from my paychecks so I called Human Relations and the next day I was written up 3 times in a row under false accusations in order to terminate my employment. I called HR and informed them, and the managers could not fire me. So.. they were forced to do a review of my pay. After putting me down right before the meeting and saying I was wrong.. it was discovered that they had indeed been shorting my pay. I had proof on paper of my hours, and they were forced to pay me. This stealing hours, stealing money etc. is only the tip of the iceberg at the Bagel Factory. This is the WORST managed store on the entire main line. You can do your very best and you will still get yelled at every day. To some things up.. here is a small portion of the list of issues which were pretty much ignored.. 1. expired food in prep cases and walk in fridge (turkey chicken salad etc) 2. food storage temperature being ignored (photos of the broken thermometer were send to regional management who chose not to repair it) 3. Store is infested with mice, cockroaches and other bugs 4. I found mold in old muffin batter tubs in walk in (that means it got over 41 degrees in there) 5. 75 broken floor tiles in wholesale food production area 6. Employee hand wash station upstairs is non functional (no soap or towels, sink broken) 7. Mice are getting into the food at night, and running around our feet 8. Non functioning AC system (temperatures exeeded 95 degrees) 9. Family of mice living under serving counter, and in utility closet 10. Bottom of bagel Kettle rusted out 11. Missing cieling tiles, vents clogged with flour 12. First aid kit empty for over 4 months (requests ignored) Emplyees forced to use paper towels and tape for bandages when needed 13. Fire system non functional 14. Glass cracked on back door

Pros

The other employees are easy to get along with, free bagels.

Cons

I don't know where to start. The owner is dishonest and routinely skims hours off of employee paychecks. The manager scheduled me to work 11 days in a row and began yelling when I asked for less days. Employees constantly quit because the restaraunt is run so horribly, and this means there are never enough employees to run the shop. Expect to be overworked with no room to negotiate your shifts. On another note, the restaraunt has a rat problem and is on the verge of being closed by health inspectors. It astounds me that this business is still open. Steer clear!
