Management’s view of WFH and flexible work schedules is very one-sided. We are told by management that an overwhelming majority of employees don’t prefer a hybrid schedule. However, employees were never surveyed (or asked for that matter) what they prefer so this feels very insincere. If that is the case then the employees who want to be in the office 5 days a week can do so, and the employees who prefer to have some flexibility can have that option as well. Management claims there is no “one size fits all” approach, which I can agree with, but giving employees 1 to 2 days a week from home hardly seems like a major disruption to the core value of collaboration. If anything, employees may have an increase in job satisfaction, which might even reduce the rapid turnover being experienced. Several current and former employees have also commented on the same issue, so this does appear to be a topic of concern.
