Business outlook
Pros
Good benefits (although they are cutting on it as of 2011). Very low chance of getting fired/laid off. Many opportunities for courses and training. Mostly friendly colleagues. Possible to have very good work-life balance.
Cons
Almost impossible to increase salary, there is no reward model. Growing in responsibilities however is certainly possible if you work harder than the average, which is low. After the 2008 crisis, there is almost no innovation or entrepreneurship left. The bank has become a local subsidiary of BNP Paribas, everything directed from Paris or London, a sign of weak Belgian Management. Most of the talented and ambitious people left or are leaving the bank, except for the older generation.
