The client BMW is a German automobile, motorcycle and engine manufacturing company. It also owns and produces the Mini marque, and is the parent company of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. BMW being one of the leading automobile manufacturing company having complex landscape from IT perspective. The project started as a cost-saving initiative by the client and resulted in outsourcing of the complete support package to Accenture, which was earlier taken care of by 200+ vendors collectively.
Cons
A package of 500+ applications working on different technologies was taken over through a knowledge transition process which required travel to Onshore and at various Client sites. The support process requires availability during CET operational timings, i.e. working in shifts and handling multiple applications at any given time.
