Competitive pay and a respectful, if also quite regimented working environment - Software Engineer BHP Employee Review

Pros

During my time there, the pay was quite competitive, and given the company's size and the breadth of the concern's interests and portfolio, there were definitely quite a few options for career progression and diversification. And as mentioned, I found the culture of my area of the company and my colleagues to be quite respectful and professional.

Cons

Having spent many years working in the defence sector and with members of the armed forces, I was actually quite surprised at how regimented and prescriptive the Group / corporate policies were — much more so than what I experienced in Defence — and how much this affected my (local) group's ability to implement creative solutions.

Pros

Some good co-workers and good challenges

Cons

Leadership in the Tucson office is highly political and unprofessional. Feedback is not given directly. Local leadership is more interested in Linkedin posting and image, rather than anything of substance.
