Pros
- Amazing people work here. It's quite difficult to find someone who isn't easy or interesting to talk to. - Some work can be genuinely interesting. - Generally laid back atmosphere. - The variety of projects for some teams is impressive. - Work/Life balance is actually pretty good, but I imagine that's project, location and team specific.
Cons
- If you get stuck in a particular position you don't like, it's *very* difficult to get out. - There seems to be an increasingly top down and imposing management style which results in unpopular decisions getting pushed onto employees with little to no prior warning. - The past few years has reaped little reward for some teams despite working incredibly difficult. - Quiet staff tend to get ignored and praise is usually diverted towards the people who "make a noise". This is a technology company! Respect your developers, even if they're not socially forward! - it's been ever so apparent that the quality of the office atmospheres has dropped considerably since 2011. Many of the working atmosphere benefits that drew new starters in were taken away after a year - e.g. free soft drinks, biscuits, juice, fully subsidised sports clubs etc.
