Pros

Hybrid and flexible working Share Scheme Early Friday Finish

Cons

No progression, unless your face fits and you shout about how good you are. Management promote who they want to promote. Many internal roles in shared services aren’t advertised, moves are managed… I.e managers promote who they want to, you don’t get recognised for just doing a good/very good job, this can actually hinder you because they will keep you where they need you. Talks of returning to the office more. Inconsistent or no communication Last minute deadlines Lack of clear direction Poor systems (this was a big surprise to me, everything is very manual and on spreadsheets). Management talk about development and mental wellbeing but do nothing to actively help. The constant demands, lack of forward looking, planning and sufficient resources result in an overworked and stressed workforce with no opportunity to progress. It feels like it’s take take take with little reward.
