Pros

Great bosses, awesome commission structure that motivated you to work hard, you felt valued by everyone

Cons

Sharecare came in and decided that everything that BACTES had built up needed changed, and they turned it from the best job ever to the worst job ever, and they don't care. When I pointed out that I was now making $2000 less EVERY MONTH because of the change in commission, I was told that I was misreading my paycheck stubs (despite them clearly showing exactly what I am saying here) and that I would make more under the new bonus structure. The new bonus structure is tapped out at $500/month and if you make ONE mistake, they disqualify you from making the bonus, so now they literally make up mistakes on your work so they can avoid paying. I've caught QC in lies about mistakes they claim I've made!

Pros

Many of the individuals working at BACTES are dedicated to their clients and peers, wonderfully engaged and team-oriented, with long tenures of great results who work very hard.

Cons

BACTES is an 'old school' company trying unsuccessfully to reinvent itself under the umbrella of ShareCare, as a healthcare technology company. However, BACTES sells against technology and in fact, has a very weak technology platform, as well as a very manual approach to processing medical records. BACTES is very male-centric in the sales arena and my manager frequently admitted that it was 'under-represented by women.' It's an unfortunately typical 'old boys' club, with the preferred sales techniques being akin to motorhome sales - great for male salespeople very skilled in hardball, transactional sales rather than consultative ones where the relationship is important. Male or female, if you don't make your numbers in 6 months, you're fired. The sales manager in the region in which I worked was inexperienced in sales and sales leadership and resorted to sales bullying tactics to humiliate salespeople in the performance improvement plan leading up to firing. The other reason not to join this company is the reality of the healthcare current sector in terms of contraction of the number of companies needing BACTES services, as well as the fact that many companies are taking the services they offer in-house, no longer requiring a vendor. It's a mature business model, saturated, with no innovation and on the decline overall. The other major factor is regulatory pressure, dramatically decreasing revenues and putting downward pressure on profits, making it very hard to support an expensive sales force.
