Pros

Friendly colleagues, quite a lot of projects. Quite good for junior developers. Some projects are quite interesting.

Cons

Salary is quite low compared to some of Novosibirsk companies and "performance reviews"(as well as actual performance) don't affect it in any meaningful way. Projects are quite similar, their distribution among developers looks strange, so some of quite critical projects are made by juniors when more senior devs are working on some routine projects that don't require higher levels of experience. No actual benefits except some minimal sport compensation(~1k rubles/month).

Pros

I have worked for Azoft for about 2 years and really believe the company provides you with all kind of resources to grow and improve your skills including a possibility to learn from the more experienced co-workers. l think it’s important to show your team lead that you are ready to learn and improve your skill set in order to get involved in more interesting projects.

Cons

The company offers custom software development services to many DIFFERENT clients, that is a good and a bad thing for developers. One day you are working with the latest stack but the other you have to dive deep into 6 years old legacy code. But at the same time, it’s quite a common situation for all the outsourcing development companies.

Pros

Pretty friendly atmosphere and friendly teammates. Free working hours. Good office location (I mean Academgorodok with all his goods).

Cons

Hour base rate system of payments. Say you're stuck with some issue and trying to make decisions when you are taking a shower home after work. Your brain is still solving the issue but nobody expect you to report this time as working hours. Or, say, some of your teammates asks you something. You cannot wave him off, It's absolutely ok to help, but where should you put all those time spent for helping? You always had to think about whether you have enough reported hours or not to have a good money this month. Actually there is too much hype about company projects, most of which do not deserve it. I think it's better to be a little more modest. (By the way it's pretty usual behavior for Russian companies.)
