Pros

People are friendly. I was not personally not micromanaged.

Cons

- benefits are mediocre. - company is cliquey & people are often hired from the usual private school background with a degree from one out of a few universities. - day to day workload often looks nothing like the job description - hardly any diversity in lower levels of the company. Absolutely no diversity in senior management. (not a single ounce) - a lot of gendered hiring. Support roles are mostly filled with women. - onboarding needs improvement. - there is a lot of smoke and mirrors in the company. *The company has acknowledged that there is a massive disparity in pay between men and women. They have done nothing to actually address it other than hosting talks during lunch hours where the few very well paid women in the company ramble about their careers as if an hour of rambling is economically beneficial to anyone. No talks about what Avison Young plans to do to address said disparity. *The Canada based CEO paints a picture of a company and industry in a dire situation but the UK leadership refuses to be honest with staff about what is happening and how it affects everyone. For example our recent office space consolidation was presented to us as an opportunity for close collaboration rather than a cost saving exercise.

Pros

Good location and generous PTO & holiday pay benefits

Cons

Toxic workplace culture with incompetent and poor or lack of leadership. Managers and team leads are bullies and set unrealistic expectations with frequent policy changes
