Thank you for writing a review and listing all the pros of working at Availity. You did a fantastic job describing the culture of our organization in your description.
At Availity, we know excellent communications are a cornerstone to our success and growth. At the enterprise level, our internal communications team routinely shares company information through multiple channels including, emails, intranet, video, yammer, social media, and live town halls, and even all-associate meetings hosted by our leadership. The team’s goal is to help associates feel knowledgeable about our industry, customers, products, and services, informed about our strategic initiatives and operating priorities, and feel heard when it comes to informing decisions that impact our associates broadly.
Availity is a busy place with many projects at different stages. It sounds chaotic because it is sometimes (but in a good/fun way where intelligent and creative people solve complex problems). However, we know we have some more communications work to do at the team level. We are growing at an unprecedented rate, which is a beautiful problem to have. But because of this growth, we know that we must improve our cross-departmental communication to scale effectively and continue to provide outstanding services to our clients. So, what does this mean? It means working more closely with our department managers to improve cross-departmental communications and bring more transparency into our projects and processes. We are working on this.
We are also working on our learning and development programs. While some exciting new things are coming soon, there are many programs today that our teams and associates are taking advantage of to improve and grow professionally. For example, each Availity associate is strongly encouraged to participate in an Individual Development Plan (IDP) exercise with their manager. Using the IDP framework, associates can reflect on their careers, think about the skills they would like to build and improve, and define their short- and long-term goals. Once they complete their plan, associates can sit down with their managers to design a career growth and learning path. The IDP is just one example of how you can grow as a leader in your career at Availity. There are many more.
Since you are a current associate, please make time to share this constructive feedback with your manager. These discussions help make Availity a great place to work for everyone. Also, please reach out to our learning and development team if you have more specific questions about career development. They have many resources to help you.
