Pros

Working from home is really the only pro on this position

Cons

Time off - almost non existant. Very small number of PTO days. No sick time. Forced to work while sick (or sick kids home) because I don't want to use my PTO hours for that, want to save them for time off with my family (vacations, school events, family events etc) Management of CAAD - or lack thereof. No one ever tells us anything that is happening in company, industry or market. Simply give us a metric to work off of. No real thought goes into the cars we are appraising/pricing. I find the company VERY reactive, rather than proactive. No career development (this is specific to CAAD) - do not expect to make any moves in the company or CAAD. There is NO development. Nor are open positions, if there is an opening they just put a specific person in it. No interviewing etc. Treatment of CAAD by stores - outright hostility between the CAAD department and stores. It's clear we are not accepted or liked by other departments in Autonation. There is such a divide and it makes it an annoying place to work at. Management doesn't care to get to know anyone. Given the remote nature of our position no one talks to you unless you mess up on something, then you hear all about it. But does anyone in management say, "how was your weekend", "how are the kids" etc. NOPE! As long as you are being productive and making them money, they could care less about you as a person.

Pros

The department is work from home.

Cons

They do not provide any equipment/laptops and make you pay for your own virus protection. Extreme micromanagement leaves employees with little autonomy and creates unnecessary stress. Frequent layoffs and high turnover. Inconsistent scheduling and long hours, including recurring 10-14 hour days yet ending the week with no overtime. Employees are blamed for slow business conditions they cannot control. Unpaid on-call expectations when the work load is low. Low compensation relative to workload. Management often complains about having to answer employee questions, creating an environment where people feel discouraged from seeking guidance or clarification. Employees are treated as replaceable rather than valued contributors.
