Pros
Potential to make lots of money. The GM has a dog he brings to work.
Cons
Terrible management and questionable coworkers, even for a car dealership. I wanted a career change and thought I’d try my hand at sales. The managers say they don’t micromanage, and after 6 weeks I realized that was code for “we don’t know how to manage so you have to know the ins and outs of this job immediately so you can make me money”. The only “onboarding” process they had was to watch hours of Audi training videos and take assessments. I found this helpful for my acquisition of product knowledge but that’s about it. 3 weeks after I started, my manager came up to me and handed me a piece of paper that he had written “GET GET GO” on, and told me to focus on that. So I guess that was my training. You have to go around asking your coworkers questions and some are helpful, but others are miserable humans and they want to take their misery out on you. Ultimately it wasn’t worth how much I hated going there every day. Highly narcissistic and toxic workplace. I couldn’t wait to leave after 6 weeks even though I made $2500 from selling one car. So the potential to earn is there, but at what cost?
