Rapid deterioration driven by fragile male leadership - Consultant Atticus Communications Employee Review

Pros

Honestly, none. The environment is so painfully toxic that any pros are totally absorbed or obscured.

Cons

Where to begin. The root of the problem is undoubtedly the Founders, one money-hungry egomaniac who encompasses all of the worst 'isms, and one without the backbone to stand up to his partner's tyrannical leadership. The company is foundationally unwelcoming to anyone who isn't a white male of a certain political persuasion, despite what they proclaim on the website. Also worth noting the photos included aiming to show diversity are years old - none of those people work there any longer!

Pros

- Opportunity to move up and be promoted very quickly, began as an intern and within a few months was promoted to Client Executive - Served as a launchpad to my career, I am now in news/broadcasting due to my experience at Atticus - Chance to work with incredible global clients, including renowned tech firms, charities, and foreign governments - The client teams are small which allows for greater participation - voices are heard no matter your position, I was very involved both as an intern and Client Executive - The co-founders have an open door policy and are very welcoming, the structure of the company is pretty flat so it is very easy to get your voice heard - Great social life, the partners will pay for staff nights out and there are different social groups you can participate in. Loved that there is a good work / life balance - Diverse working environment, as a young Muslim female of Arab/North African and Eastern European heritage, I felt very valued and welcomed which is not always common in this industry - I loved my time at Atticus and would recommend working here if you have a passion for politics, public affairs, and comms!

Cons

- No cons, it is a dynamic and busy working environment so just prepare to work hard and it will pay off

Pros

- Paid internship - Some junior consultants were pleasant to work with

Cons

- Cliquey - No diversity (except the interns) - Poor feedback - Blatant favoritism - No real learning as it wasn't a proper internship: seniors were also visibly annoyed when asked for clarification on something I wasn't taught about
