Cons
If you are looking for a position where training and development and work life balance are part of the culture, this is not the place for you. As someone who came from outside the Gap family of brands, I needed more training than an internal hire. My GM was not receptive to training and seemed to be annoyed when I asked for further direction or any kind of collaboration. This is not a culture that is open to new ideas or debate about old ones that aren't working. It was made known to me and others that self-development versus training was preferred. I would have preferred a mix, with a mutually agree upon developmental path . In addition, work life balance is non-existent. Taking state regulated rest breaks were frowned upon as was leaving on time/at the end of your shift if you were a manager. Moreover, if it is a holiday period or a "must-win" weekend (which is almost every weekend) be prepared to work a lot overtime whether you want it not.
