Depends on your local management - Sales Associate Athleta Employee Review

Pros

They offer a generous discount for all company stores and a great merch card to all employees, FT and PT. They are negotiable regarding pay, and fairly generous for retail- they may ask what you're expecting, and I recommend throwing out a higher number than most retail jobs. The company's ideals are great, and the merchandise is mostly legit technical gear, so it's a product worth standing behind.

Cons

I really think it depends on your local management- can really make or break the job, and set the tone for the morale of the store. If they are inexperienced, condescending or clique-y, it will make for a miserable setting. I can definitely see how the GM got the position, just wonder how many people he/she has stepped on in his/her career. Store is overstaffed, with often a dozen sales associates on duty at one time, and high pressure to hound each customer like crazy. A couple managers are like hawks, micromanaging your every move, and butting in at times where it's actually harmful to the store operations and customer relations.

Pros

Very black & white on policies. You always know what is right or wrong.Operationally strong company that allows movement between brands. Decent pay if you advocate for yourself as an external, but don’t expect much once you’re in.

Cons

Company has changed direction so much since COVID. Seems like there’s no clear idea on who we are anymore.Senior leadership feels like a revolving door that only succeeds in spinning tires with no traction. We love to initiate something only to either sunset it months later or leave it in limbo(WellPro). The amount of stress pushed on stores to meet credit goals is absurd to the point it inspires unethical behaviors in certain stores.
