Pros
Those who work at AssureRx Health are incredible passionate and knowledgeable. It was an absolute joy to work with them and learn from them. This company is unique in that it is growing rapidly but still shows appreciation for all their employees. Even as an intern, I felt appreciated from middle and upper management, include C-level management. It was very exciting to have the opportunity to work in pharmacogenomics, an experience that I feel very lucky to have had.
Cons
Commute can be very long for some, especially interns. During my time as an intern, myself and two other interns lived by the University of Cincinnati, which is approximately a 45 minute commute to the company, sometimes more than an hour with traffic. Unless working in the laboratory, it is mostly a desk job, which for some people can be a little frustrating (I was used to laboratory work prior to my work at AssureRx, so it was a change for me personally). Tremendous amounts of reading involved, and although very interesting and provide significant learning experience, can grow very monotonous after 40+ hours of reading journals week after week. Cubicles in the office are open to provide an open work area, which may be desired by some but I personally found it to be somewhat distracting and could sometimes cause the noise in the office to be rather loud, making it difficult to concentrate.
