Pros
Not in an office. Job is great in idea. Easy first job. Great pay.
Cons
Over scheduling of patients, no breaks for lunch or bathroom fit into your days; you are scheduled to see patients for 9 hours/day. No time is built into your day for charting or call backs; your evenings consist of performing call backs or leaving messages with various physician offices. The areas you cover will vary and can result in traveling over 100 miles/day depending on the patient schedule. One thing I really did not like was the lack of autonomy, this company is a consult service therefore you make recommendations and are not making any decisions. This job is an excellent job for a strong RN, this is not an NP position, however RN's are not billable providers. Work life balance is hard to obtain unless you have an established area or you out right refuse to see additional patients. You must be very willing to speak up for yourself. Lots of changes on an almost daily basis. Benefits are not good, high premiums for insurance, no match for 401k.
