Pros
M-F work week; weekends and holidays off
Cons
Where to begin? Let's start where everyone starts - training. The training is bland and boring, but at least you'll be hit on each day if you're even a remotely attractive female. Oh, and you'll be yelled at, herded like cattle, and treated like a kindergartner. Next, is Management. A few of the Supervisors are shameless butt-kissers, but most of them are decent. Unfortunately, the good ones are leaving or thinking about leaving because Management is worthless. I can't comprehend how someone can "manage" a call center when they have zero knowledge of the call content. Speaking of the call center, it's ridiculously crowded. It's mostly female and there's 1.5 bathrooms. It's almost impossible to use the restroom without going completely over on your break. And the bathroom is always disgusting because they can only hire the worst people with zero hygiene. They keep bringing in classes of 30-60 people despite having nowhere to sit them. They makeup the lack of seating by having a crazy high turnover rate. All you need to know about the Attendance Policy is that being 1 minute late holds the same punishment as missing a full day. WTF!? If you want to know why, it's because the company is paid by the person, not by the metric. They bill the gov't per hour worked, so all they really want is for you to be there. Nevermind if you have a car wreck, an emergency with your child, inclement weather, etc., they don't care. If you're not there, it's an occurrence and they have zero remorse. But the worst thing by far are the stupid rotating schedules. You may work 6a-2:30p one week, and then 7a-3:30p next week, and then 8:45a-5:15p the week after. Like seriously? I've never worked for a call center that did that. That is no work/life balance whatsoever.
