Stable environment with decent pay and friendly people, but weak benefits - Credit & Collections Analyst Arvo Tech Employee Review

Pros

Stable office environment with hybrid work available for most positions. Pay is comparable with market rate or above and the people are friendly! I liked how often there were events and company activities. Since the team is smaller there is room for some people to cross-train and wear many hats, which can be both a pro and a con depending on how you look at it.

Cons

Benefits package is not so good, with high deductibles and premiums. Leadership can be pretty detached from day to day operations and played favorites occasionally, leading to resentment across teams. Work life balance was hard at times with people texting/calling before and after work hours and discouraging time off, but this might have changed since my time there.

Pros

Workload was manageable, regular working hours were respected.

Cons

It’s no surprise that in the months following Arvo’s acquisition of their former sister company, many employees from that organization left for better opportunities. The sister company’s existing initiatives, projects, and processes were largely disregarded in favor of Arvo’s own interests. In doing so, leadership pushed out those with the deepest knowledge of that product and business, leaving it the hands of teams ill-equipped to support its continued success. Many employees are part of Xenos. Those who are family and friends have an extra level of comfort and job security afforded to them. Inappropriate jokes are often made in an attempt to create a “fun” environment. Leadership communicates poorly and inconsistently, leaving employees guessing about the company’s direction and how their roles contribute to its goals. If you’re a man, part of their inner circle, and enjoy playing corporate politics, this is the place for you!
